The women's version of the Zephyr MK2 GTX MID combat boots from the German company Lowa is the latest iteration of the legendary footwear, which balances agility, lightness and stability. These properties make the shoes suitable for use by military or police special forces, but also by "regular" members of the armed forces.
Zephyr in the second generation
The MK2 in the name means that this is the second generation of Zephyr boots. Compared to the first, it has undergone a number of improvements. One of them is the locking for the two-zone lacing system, and then we have a lace case integrated in the upper part of the tongue, enlarged heel loops for better putting on, and also a more robust upper thanks to stitching shifted outside the flex zone.
The perfect mix of materials
The Zephyr MK2 GTX MID are boots that combine the perfect mix of materials and technologies. The MID-CUT upper, which is made of suede and patented Cordura material, is ideal for rappelling or skydiving. The suede contained is water-repellent and tear-resistant, Cordura has high abrasion resistance and is breathable at the same time.
Proven membrane and innovative midsole
The waterproof and at the same time highly breathable Gore-Tex Extended Comfort membrane was used for the Zephyr MK2 GTX MID boots. Gore-Tex membranes are proven over the years and you can rely on them. As well as the innovative midsole, which is two-layer, made of polyurethane foam and is combined with a Monowrap frame that wraps the wearer's foot and supports it.
(Not only) for rappelling
This Lowa shoe is not only designed for rappelling, but if you have ever done such an activity, then you know that special requirements are placed on shoes for these special purposes. Lace hooks may need to be hidden so they don't get caught in the rope, good heel cushioning and of course a stable upper are also important. All of these elements prevent potential injury.
Unique lacing system
The Zephyr MK2 GTX MID shoes feature a unique two-zone lacing system, where the forefoot and upper have separate (and separately adjustable) lacing zones. This allows the shoe to perfectly adapt to the anatomy of your foot and allows it to be laced in different ways for different usage scenarios.
Technologically advanced processing
The Zephyr MK2 GTX MID shoes are manufactured using a relatively technologically demanding processing process. Specifically, injection molding, which connects the sole to the upper. This ensures more effective cushioning and greater comfort for the wearer. The upper part of the shoe is inserted into a special mold and then various layers of PU foam filling are gradually poured into it.
A frame that holds and supports the foot
The Lowa-Monowrap shoe frame creates a three-dimensional midsole design, holding the foot comfortably and supporting it. Especially when you need to walk on uneven surfaces. The snug position of the foot in the shoe means that you will not get tired as quickly when walking. In addition, the two-layer midsole provides excellent insulation against heat and cold.
X-Trac Military sole
All models of the Zephyr MK2 shoe series have been equipped with the X-Trac Military sole, which has the best anti-slip properties (SRC - according to ISO 20347), excellent insulation against extreme temperatures - whether hot or cold - and is resistant to fuel, oil and contact heat.
